Maxine is from Fernie - that's right - original!
I have always had a people job... educating in nursing, I worked for many years at the Fernie District Hospital. In the early 90s my husband and I had the opportunity to build, own and operate a hotel in the Fernie Ski Hill. Both careers allowed me to meet and mingle with the public.
One day, my husband, who is a local Building Contractor - suggested I become a REALTOR®. He said - with my love of people, my organizational skills, and my knowledge of buildings - Real Estate would be a natural progression for me. He was right - Real Estate is a very rewarding profession.
After over 20 years in the Real Estate Profession - I am stepping back from the Managing Broker role and continue working as a REALTOR®. I plan to use my “new found time” to do some of the other things I enjoy in life - family, travel, gardening, and spend more time with my husband... the man that has put up with my schedules, meetings, missed dinner dates ….. it is his time now.
My years inreal estate has given me the knowledge, the connections, and an understanding of people. Fernie is a small community that attracts a large audience. To succeed here - a REALTOR® needs to understand all of the area markets - residential, recreational, lands, development, and commercial. I have been fortunate over the years to have worked in all the markets - and confident enough to represent any Buyer or Seller.
I grew up in Fernie and now live in the South Country – and that gives me an edge. I am comfortable in both communities, and know both areas well. I represent properties in the Elk Valley and South Country - Sparwood, Elkford, Fernie, Hosmer, Fernie Alpine Resort, Jaffray, Baynes Lake, Elko, Wardner, Grasmere, Koocanusa area. It is my intention to find you the best property for your needs - whether you plan to stay in the area part time ... or plan to make Fernie your home, and live here as a full time resident.
